Defined by the American National Standards Institute Z891.1-2014, Class E printed hard hats are tested to withstand 20,000 volts of electrical current and protect the user’s head from arc flashes and electrical shock. Class E is the highest rating and is most effective at reducing exposure to high voltage currents. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires all employees who work in environments where high voltage hazards are present to use Class E hard hats.
